Colpurin’s 30-day cleanse consists of Internal Cleanse (Phase 1), Body Purifier (Phase 2) and Puritox.
The Colpurin system was designed to gently increase eliminations, reduce body toxicity, prevent future toxicity and renew energy, vitality, and vigor.
According to the website, toxic build up of fecal matter within our colons is responsible for most of today’s common ailments, including diverticulosis, constipation, gas, bloating, cramping, colon cancer, IBS, as well as other gastric illnesses.
The company claims that by taking its cleansing program and eliminating the toxic build-up of retained fecal matter waste, you give your body the ability to fight off disease and infection.
At the same time, they also have a warning that states: “Do not begin using Colpurin Phase 1 – Internal Cleanse if you have frequent diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, frequent abdominal cramping, or any other gastric conditions.”
So on one hand they are telling you that you need their product to eliminate gastric illnesses and then they tell you not to use their product if you suffer from gastric conditions. Very confusing!
The warning is due to the fact that Phase I contains Cascara Sagrada Bark, which should not be taken for longer than 1 to 2 weeks according to the PDR for Herbal Medicine:
“Stimulating laxatives must not be used over a period of more than 1 to 2 weeks without medical advice.”
There is a warning about this on their website, but it’s a bit confusing when they’re trying to sell you a three-month cleanse. Cascara Sagrada is also contraindicated for inflammatory diseases of the colon.
The ingredients are listed on the website but I would have liked to have seen more product information. There are a few good testimonials for the product, some even have pictures of the person, which helps with the credibility.
Psyllium seed is a form of fiber that is added as a bulking agent to the Colpurin capsules but in my experience, psyllium, as well as other forms of fiber, are most effective when used in a powdered form.
Colpurin does not come in vegetarian capsules and it contains milk, which could pose a problem for those who are lactose intolerant.
